More Money than sense....

I didn't know to laugh or cry when I saw this one.... 1980 Chevrolet : C/K Pickup 1500 on ebay... "Show Truck"

First to spend the money to build it... then to just leave it rot... more money than sense.

Re: More Money than sense....

I find it hard to believe that 4 years in a florida driveway could do that to a truck. It is a little over the top, but someone put a lot of time and money into this thing. It wouldn't take that much money to get this truck back close to show quality. He is asking 7,00 locally and a reserve of $3000, not too bad in my opinion.

no... no no no.....

I think I just died a little inside after seeing that. I don't care HOW much work went into it, that is just tacky and worthless. Effort does not=quality or value in my book.

Re: More Money than sense....

How in the heck do you let a show truck rott like that. Thats another one of those projects thats too far out to sell, but with all the cancer I can see why he would. I think we all should pool our money together and rebuild it for SEMA. COME'ON GUYS WHAT DO YOU SAY?

Re: More Money than sense....

I'm with cliffsta, small parts of my brain are shutting down right now. between the udder tackyness, and the unbelievable amounts of cash he must have wasted. probably in the range of $20K to make a chevy look like a gay mans space ship !! what a loss, what a terrible loss.

Yeah I think if that's his house or his rental and the Corvette is his, then he doesn't care too much about the Truck.

Re: More Money than sense....

Looke like the truck received very little primer and the metal was not preped right for it to rust like that. I lived in S.Miami for 15 years and never had a problem like that.

I gotta agree with something along those lines. No other way would there be that much rust. Why would u invest that much money into something like that unless you just have too much money and too much time. I agree looks like a gay spaceship design or some other weird flying shi^.

Thumbs up Re: More Money than sense....

Other than the color combo i don't see why everyone is bashing this truck i think is was and still is a kool custom CHEVY TRUCK!

It's a shame the owner let it all go to hell like that.

As a life long Fla. resident i can tell you that the rust on that truck wasn't caused by the rain down here as he stated in his discription my 87 stepper spent it's first 6/7 yrs of life in the Fla. elements and it has zero rust

Re: More Money than sense....

Are those Dodge truck tail lights?
The color is horrible and it appears the paint job was crap.
There appeared to be rust and stuff all over (look at the hinges and stuff).
Plus the truck was all wet when he took the pictures which made it shine more.
I bet the pictures make the truck look better than it does in person.
I hate that truck.

Re: More Money than sense....

That picture he has must be a before picture. No, the truck is not my cup of tea but a lot of work went into it for sure. I think that truck has been in the water for some time and not just rain. MO

Re: More Money than sense....

That truck could probably be a hurricane survivor. He could have got it cheap at a auction, and hear we have it. It looks to be a water vehicle to me. All it would need is some TLC from someone who appriciates the back to the future styling. What would you say if you saw that beast at your local car/truck show or car wash all layed out?

Bet he drove it on the beach and drove in the salt water, rain will not rust it out that bad unless the metal was never painted.
