Hey everyone I know its been a while since ive posted ive been going back and forth to Cali but Ive managed to get some work done in between trips to update those of how it started here is the before. I converted this N.M. 4x4 to a 2wd shaved the door handles and side marker lights and a host of other things hope you like.

I flattened a 67 hood and custom made a old 67 grille and shaved the front side marker lights and shaved the wiper cowl.

and last shaved the rear tail lights and the rear tail gate (working on that now) and here are the results so far.

on the grille I plan on fitting a 72 inner plastic grille, one thing I like to do in custom work is to not go too far from factory that way it will always stay in style. If you do something too outragaous it will lose its appeal in time and be out of style. The best compliment you can get is someone saying "Did you get if from the factory like that?" I also have a nice front roll pan thats gonna get some serious custom work as well as the rear pan to custom fit the rear lights , stay tuned

looking good nice work on the body mods i have just started shaving my wiper cowl its goingto take some time how many hours did you put in the cowl so i knowwhat to look forward too

The wiper cowl took some time because of the way I stitched it (I actually did it twice to do it right) on hours I would say be ready to set aside anywhere from 4-6 hrs till a paint finish. I stiched it real slow so the metal would not warp. The biggest challange by far was the hood got a few days wrapped up in getting it flat and re-bracing it so it would not flop around, thats what the center line is for it re-inforces the big piece of sheet metal .I checked out your 2wd drive that was a cool find how much did you pick it up for? I was just in your neck of the woods last week I cant wait to get mine back to cali to ride the coast with the top off.

What kind of bracing did you use on the hood when you took out the re-inforcing rib to flatten it? It seems like our hoods tend to vibrate and move quite a bit during normal driving.

I made a cross bracing on the underside going the length and width and welded them at there connecting point worked well when I was sanding with the long board to flatten it.

yep i know the feeling i have wanted one of these for 10 years then i finaly got it and it is goingto be great driving around with the top off
i picked it up for 2,000 and i probley alredy have 3 to 4 more into it and a lot of hours but it has all been fun
