help with truck value

Yesterday, i found a 1970 cst 10 truck that is for sale. It has the following options: Big block, th 400, factory tach, ac that works, bucket seats, posi, wood bed and all others that go with a cst. It is supposed to be a 2 owner with the miles showing as original (76000) It started out life as a farm truck by the owner of the chevy dealer in Wichita, then was owned by another guy. It does have some rust but not in the normal places, it has a little in on rocker, but over the back wheel wells and on the bed sides seems to be the only real rust. The underneath is clean. Do you think this truck is worth $2500? I haven't driven it, but the guy tells me it runs and drives good. I'm enclosing on picture.

Thanks
David

Re: help with truck value

Before I read the price I thought that I would be pretty happy paying $2,000 for it. I don't think $2,500 is bad either, if that's what they are asking there may be some room to work.

Running BBC with working A/C? Not to mention buckets and tach? Beds are easy to find here in Tx. I wouldn't have any problem giving the 2500 for it.

Re: help with truck value

sounds like a good price to me , 2000 would be better.

Whats the deal with the cob roof? I would triple check it to make sure the roof does not have some hidden rust!

Re: help with truck value

ya was wondering about the cab roof myself. almost looks like they put that vinyl stuff (like ya see on old nova/camaros/buicks) but even though its a LB i would have to say 2500$ is a good price.

Re: help with truck value

looks like it has/had a vinyl top on it by the a-pillar. I would say 1500-2000 would be a great buy, however 2500 is still a good buy.

Re: help with truck value

I would think $2,000 would be pretty fair. Good luck on getting it.

Re: help with truck value

There is not a lot of difference betwen 2000. and 2500. If you have been looking for a truck like this for while and this is the first decent one you have found then I'd try to get for 2000.( you always have to ask) and in the least I'm sure they'd split the diff with you and if they hold firm and if its what you want , buy it.. If you decide not to buy it drop me a PM cause I'd be interested in it. What is with the roof, is it vinyl peeling off or just rusted out. If its rust then the truck would only be worth 800 to 1000.
