Shock advice

I noticed at the weekend whilst climbing in the back of my 67 long fleet that the rear shocks are well past their best as it bobbed up and down for ages after I'd jumped out. Its standard height coil sprung. What shocks would you guys reccomend, wouldn't mind stiffiening the back up a touch. It needs to be a big international brand ideally that I can pick up easily in the UK.

I'm sorry, I just realized I was thinking of KYB NOT Koni. The shocks I've got in my truck are KYB-5409. They work in my lowered truck, but are great for any 2wd app regardless of height.

Right, back after a couple of weeks over working on my house in France and I have to get my finger out and get the truck back on the road as the guys I'm renting workshop space from want me out as they have a new toy they need the space for, an alcohol drinking big blocked chevy Nova drag car.

I'm having trouble finding KYB's over here, KYB have a UK operation but they were totally unhelpful, I've been offered Monroes and AC welcos, the AC Delcos are cheaper and the Monroes to me appear to be overpriced for what is essentially a stock OEM replacement shock. Has anyone used AC Delco shocks and are they any good?

I was going to offer to buy a set and ship them over to you, but after re-reading your post, it sounds like your truck is a mostly a work truck and not a 'hot-rod'. I would totally recommend the KYB's for a lowered truck, but probably not worth it if you're just hauling stuff with yours. I would just stick with whatever you're able to obtain at the cheapest price.

Btw, any updated pics of your place in France-post 'em in GD if you do!

Have you checked with a Bilstein dealer? Might be worth a try,as I believe they are a world-wide company.
