Need help identifying this axle

I think its a detroit locker but I am not sure, havent came across one like this yet. My options tag says "N-S R Axle" here is what the diff looks like.

Looks like a ho52/72. What is your truck 3/4 or 1 ton. what is your year and make of your truck would also help.

probaly a eaton ho52, yes it is a detriot and it very well could have 5.13's to boot.

HO 52 axle. To figure out ratio and if it has a locker just unbolt the rear cover, pop the cover off and count the teeth on the ring and pinion and ring divided by pinion teeth = gear ratio. Just look at the carrier to tell if it is a locker or open.

This looks like mine,its in a 67 3/4 glove box says 4H04HA 4.11 RATIO. Can you still get gears for these.

Unitrax had them. You might try them and see if they still have them. If you want a good article on these hunt up October 2001 issue of classic trucks. They rebuild one in a 72 suburban. Here is the web site.
