nv4500

I have the oportunity to get a nv4500 which I have been looking for to put into my 68 for 300 bucks(decent price?).....the main downside to this is the bell housing that was on it has been butchered to allow for an lever action clutch....I was wanting to go the the hydrolic clutch(since mine is an auto now) does anyone know where to get a bell housing and the approximate cost of one? I think I can find all the other parts that are neccesary for the swap.

nv4500

You might want to try blazerman. I sold him a pair of nv4500's and a latemodel bellhousing for them. It looks like the old non hydraulic clutch bellhousing would bolt right up. He could look closer and let you know. I hope he does'nt mind this. good luck

Excellent price! From what year model did it come?

When shopping for bell housings, be sure to get the correct one, as I believe that not all NV4500 bolt patterns are the same. (I'm talking about the pattern at the front of the tranny, not the bell-to-motor pattern.) From 92-95 they had a different pattern than the Dodges, and after that (when they began using Dodge's ratios) they switched to Dodges bolt pattern at the front of the tranny. Good luck!

Well, you can't have mine! LOL

Really, I would love to see your project sometime. [edit] Wow! I just checked out your web page and our pickups have a lot in common. Except your runs. What are the specs? Got a pic of your glove box option list? Is that a factory pinstripe?

Being in Texas, I'll be glad to keep my eye out for one. In fact, I'm even driving to Overton and back tomorrow (but won't have a bell housing by then). You need a Chevy bell housing for which years, early or later?
