What did you get done 10/15
I worked this weekend so I didn't touch my 77. I did get something done on my 06 Chevy though. I made a decision on what wheels I wanted. I looked at pages and pages of wheels and could not find anything that I liked. Most of the new styles have simulated rivets to make them look like a 3 piece wheel. I have had real 3 piece wheels and they are a pain in the @ss to keep clean.
I finally went back to my original choice of the Eagle Alloy 026. It has clean simple styling and they are easy to clean. Yeah, I know they look like they have the fake rivets too but they don't. It's just a dimple that's supposed to give them the look. Here's some pics of my truck-Link inside What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I installed an instrument cluster into my 77, and tied up a few other loose ends on it. If all goes well, it'll be moving on to a new owner in the next week or two...
GMC is parked away in the big shop for the winter, so probally won't be much happening with it for a few months.

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I mowed the yard, probably only 1 or 2 more times left to do that in the year. Then came the rain. I couldn't get anything done. So I sat inside and watched movies all weekend Next weekend is supposed to be 75 and sunny - hopefully I'll get more done

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I cleaned the 05 CC up. Got the garage swept out. Went to a wedding. Not a busy weekend at all. Kind of nice to relax though! I went the DB dragrace on saturday. Meet board member Tracy Focht from Oklahoma there. It was nice to meet him. Very nice guy. He was in town for the weekend for his company, KICKER.

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I didn't accomplish anything useful. I went to a traditional hotrod run in Kerville sponsored by the Barons of South Texas. It was fun, but going in a Toyota leaves a little to be desired. I don't trust the '37 that far. I had to leave early to attend a friend's son's wedding Saturday night, and missed the band I really wanted to see. Met some nice folks and saw some cool cars. That's always good.
Today we met with some friends in the afternoon that we don't often see. Did the same thing tonight with some other friends. Not a bad way way to spend a rainy weekend. Slonaker |

Re: What did you get done 10/15
This weekend was another fun filled one...... Saturday i came home from schol and helped to replace the front passenger side hub on my dads 2000 chevy tahoe. After 3 trips to sears to get the right 1 and 3/8ths socket to take off the axle nut. the hub came off with no problems. The only hard part was the caliper bracket bolts because they had thread lock and i am working with hand tools. So after some thought we put the 18 MM socket on the breaker bar and the handle of the breaker bar on a raised jackstand and then lowered the tahoe down with another jack that was on the frame and in so doing used the tahoes weight to break the bolts free. Worked great but i really need a compresser and impact to make stuff like this easy. Also cleaned the 1 cm thick gunk out of the tb near the buterfly valve. now she is sure smooth. took it for a test ride and it is still making nosie so the dealer must have been wrong andit must be the drivers side that is bad or a CV joint. After all that i hung out with some freinds and worked on the house redoing the bathroom.. As far as my truck well i wrote "wash me " on the dust on my hood and that was about it. Has not been started in 6 and counting weeks now and we are pulling the insurance next week once we winterize it ie ( wash wax stabil in both tanks and a little in the carb and cover her up for a nice long winter. sorry for the long post.

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I failed my yearly emissions test. I always test a couple months early "just in case"... Rebuilding the q-jet next weekend, this always seems to fix it, even though it's running perfectly to me.

Re: What did you get done 10/15
Monday replace the front 2 body bushing on the Jimmy.
Thursday I had to break down and cut the rear cab support off the Jimmy to remove the body bushing. The bolt had rusted solid to the bushing sleeve. Replaced the 2 rear body bushings. should be moving to the passenger side next week. Friday afternoon washed the '87 and started waxing/buffing it. Got all I could with the buffer before dark Saturday got more cleaning/wax supplies as my wifes car was egg'd and it would need waxing. Picked up some grinding wheels to clean up my chopped crossmember for the project truck. Washed it again and finished up waxing the unaccessible portions. Sunday removed the chrome cover from the tailgate that was rusting and reinstalled the plastic cover. Then removed the nasty rock chip portion in front of the rear wheels and waxed the lower portion again. Looks MUCH better to me.

Re: What did you get done 10/15
Sunday was my birthday, turned 25! A quarter century!. Did a little work on the 40, cleaned it up a bit -almoset storage season. Did a little more work on the stepside. Started assembling the Mar-k bed. I put the cross sills and misc pieces in primer. awaiting ppg black paint to match the frame. Otherwise a good weekend, didn't do much else. Put the winter wheels on my s-10 and did an oil change. Have a good one!

Re: What did you get done 10/15
Saturday we celebrated my youngest daughters 3rd birthday. lots of friends and family, as a bonus one of my goody truck buddies has a daughter the same age, so they came over and hung out most of the evening. Its lucky for us those two little girls love to play together so we get to hang out during family time..lol.
Sunday I went over to my father-inlaws place and smoothed the firewall on the 71 Chevelle I am helping him build. Its his first car project and he's doing an awesome job. Its great, he does most of the work and I just give him pointers and direction.... maybe soon I can work on my truck |

Re: What did you get done 10/15
I worked all weekend and found out that the dist. in the blazer is 180 out. When I did the timing chain replacement I stabbed it wrong so I have to fix it tomorrow and maybe get it ready for sale for the other truck I found. I started another thread on it.
