Control arms question
Are the lower control arms the same on a 71 c-20 and a c-10? I know they have different balljoints but am unsure if they are the same arms or not
Thanks |

Re: Control arms question
No they are not the same. The ball joint hole is a larger diameter on the c20 arm. The only reason I know this is I was planning to up grade one of my trucks to 3/4 ton suspension and was seeing what I could use. Sorry.

Re: Control arms question
Sorry for the possibly stupid question, I'm new at this. But Aaron, what are your reasons to upgrade to 3/4 ton suspension? Early Classic specifically sells spindles to downgrade the C20s to "the better riding C10 suspension." Thanks for the help. I should be getting my 69 3/4 GMC soon and am thinking about suspension changes already. Thanks. mgd

Re: Control arms question
The arms are different but the same. They will swap over, but are reinforced (makes them resist flex). Long and short beds arms too are the same, I'll even go one further the 66 and back arms fit too!! I jacked a set off of a 64-66 3/4 ton to put on my rusty 1/2 ton, man did it stiffen things up!! better and cheaper than using aftermarket built arms!!
D@mn it I should read closer, I am talking about REAR control arms and the thread is about Front lowers, so I have no help on this! Last edited by 70rs/ss; 10-19-2006 at 02:41 PM. |
