Different Vortec intake gaskets
Just wanted to keep information available for those with Vortecs. Since GM came out with higher preformance Vortec heads that have both sets of intake mounting holes. (traditional SBC and Vortec). GM PN. 25534371 bare and PN 25534431 fully assembled. I have been researching intakes and intake gaskets. These new heads open up the possibility for better aftermarket intake set ups that utilize true sequential port fuel injection and do away with the OE central port fuel injection (sometimes refered to as "spider" injection).
I have come across these from Fel-Pro. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...PP%2D1255&x=30 These are more of a traditonal style gasket that I think will hold up better than the plastic style with the embedded orings. Opinions would be welcome on that regard. Not entirely sure why I had 2 intake gasket failures in 110K miles. I suspect the person that did the first replacement did not do a 3 step torque as recommended in the GM service manual. |
