LED Gurus I got a question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I bought some plain 2 wire round LEDs from a place that sell semi stuff. If i hook them up to the turn signal wires one way they work as turn signals when the headlights are off but not if the HLs are on. If i reverse the polarity it is the opposite. (they work as parking and turns when the HLs are on but not at all when they are off)
I do not have a LED flasher unit and this is my only idea but does not sound like an answer to me.

It's not going to work, you basicly purchased a single filiment light, like aback up bilb... 1156, you need an 1157, daul filliment buld.

It has NOTHING to do with your flasher choice.
LEDs are polarized (+ & -). Regular push-in wedge bulbs are not (You can install them either way).
You basically have to pick one or the other of the two ways you say they work....or buy a second set and drill new holes to mount them in your light housing.
I had the same exact issue with those bulbs in my Z-71.

That was the other thought i had last night. I tried it last night and it worked so i will just purchase 2 more and be done with it

Those lights suck. You can put them in front since those lights aren't all that important, but don't put them in the back.

Innovative or not - that is just flat out crazy. I could fabricate an entire lense lit up with LED's for less than what they want.

if you add a diode bridge "rectifiyer" between the power sorce and the LED setup the LED's may work wheather your headlights are on or not.

a diode bridge/ rectifiyer is typicly used to convert ac to dc voltage but also works as a polarity controller when the input power is all ready dc voltage. no matter what the polarity is going into the the diode bridge/rectifyer the output will allways be in one direction thus solving your problem.

i hope this helps somehow however if i just confused you even more i appoligize for my geekyness.
