HB switch options?

What were the alternative mounting locations for the high beam headlight switch, other than the far front left corner of the cab, before it was stuck on the steering column?

the wiring doesn't match up because of wipers and everything.

where was the switch put on trucks with manual tranny's? Surely not underneath the clutch pedal?

The late-40s/early-50s trucks and the sixties trucks with standard trans had the dimmer switch located on the upper left side of the floorboard. They were not directly underneath the clutch pedal. BTW, the wire feeding the dimmer switch should be coming from the headlight switch.
