carb question
my 67 c10 died today. it has the 250 L6. it would only run when pouring gas down the carb which makes me think the carb is clogged. we had to park it on the side of the road so i want to get this done asap. i've been looking and it has the carter yf carb (correct me if i am wrong). please give any advise on what you think it is and how to fix it.
thanks, chris |

Re: carb question
Could it be the fuel pump that died?

Re: carb question
If there is a split in the rubber somewhere it will do that. If the rubber is old, replace it.

Re: carb question
Pull off the fuel line and crank the truck a bit. Just be careful where you aim that line. If fuel pours out of the line when cranking the truck, then it's not the fuel pump. Like I said, just be careful!

Re: carb question
check to make sure your getting gas to the fuel pump, if your gas tank is old it might be clogged at the outlet. this is an on going prob. on my 70 dodge... just my .02

Re: carb question
just got the fuel pump in. runs decent considering the condition it's in. the idle was real high but a turn of a few screws will change that. thanks for the help.
