exhaust paint?
just finished painting the frame this weekend. i topped it off with a light silver that matchs the HHR trim silver. now i want to paint my exhaust pipes and mufflers. any suggestions on what will hold up. i have long tube ceramic headers, so i only want to paint from collecters back. thanks, pkj

Clean it really well beforehand (using acetone or mineral spirits, I forget which).
Eastwood also makes a really good exhaust paint. If your exhaust pipes are stainless, you can get a really nice brushed steel effect on it by doing long strokes with a Brillo pad down the length of the tubing. This also works really well with aluminum stock. It's important to use complete strokes the length of the pipe to get the full 'proper' effect.

Clean,sand brush scotchbite or whatever, getting it good and clean, and if it is steel, use a rust convertor like Rust Mort, Ospho, Naval Jelly or POR 15s Metal ready and after drying for 24 hours remove with scotch brite, then use acetone then paint. My suggestion
