Marc, It looks like yours sits on top of the wood? You did a great job blending the wood to the inner fender. I also like the way Greg did his but I am not sure I want to get that involved...lol.

I can see why, it is a sweet truck. The best part is that it gets driven.....

Re: mylow53 build

bout wrecked it last night! under acceleration and a left corner the trans shifted from 1st to 2nd and instantly i was sideways! in nascar they call it snapy loose. with in 1 second i was 3 inches away from oncoming traffic waiting to turn. let go of the throttle and corrected as fast as i could and just missed! I think whom ever i missed has a great story to tell! Personally I felt closer to God since i was thanking him for keeping me safe! those limited slip diffs can really wake you up!

Re: mylow53 build

I got a question from marc about the headlights
Hi Greg,
I have another question for you if you don't mind.

I wanted to know more about how you did your frenched headlights. Did you buy a kit?

I am not 100% sure on what I need etc. so any info on a kit or whatever I need would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Mark
I'm Glad you ask marc....
I had my first body guy (circa 1983) french them. from what i understand he braised the (?stainless?) ring to the fender. then screwed the original headlight bucket from the rear. it's a little shade tree but no kit was available so we just made it work. if you will notice there isn't an internal trim ring like you get in the kits.. it's all original just stacked different

Hey no worries, I understand the same here for me, with driving the church van and assisting with the youth ministry most Sundays. What would be kool is when time allows maybe do a meet and greet at Neptune's Net Sea food Restaurant on PCH some time. Or just let me know if and when you will be at the next Grand National Roadster Show, or if there is a big show & shine car show in Fillmore. I want to head up there for that train ride on the Fillmore and Western Railway.

Re: mylow53 build

Hi guys long time so write i just finished a trip to Monterey and i wanted to show you the old truck. on the way back to la (some 300 miles) i ran this thing at 75 mph in 100 degree heat. well the old trainee didn't like that. so naturally it spit out its fluid. 2 months latter I'm still trying to swap out the tranz cooler. we eventually made it home in a cloud of smoke. and 4 quarts of tranz oil. interesting thing though on the trip. in 2 days of driving we had well over 80 complements. Many people taking pictures, and wanting to talk trucks. even an older ww2 vet, i think he was getting a selfie….

Re: mylow53 build

I had a problem viewing part of the build but everything is fine now. If the mods would be kind enough to erase this post please, I'd be glad.
