Camshaft info
I need to know where i can find info on a cam that was in my truck. The end is stamped 151 H3. Is there a site or some other way to find out what it is? The guy I bought the truck from said he bought it from a local Chevy dealer but couldn't remember what it was. The dealer changed hands around 13 years ago. He did say it was around $300. I think thta it is a gm part but I am not for sure.

I wonder if that is the famous 151 327 350HP cam? Crane makes an identical however it's outdated technology. I think a great all around cam for a 350 in a truck with intake, and duals is the 268 comp cam..

The 151 cam was .447 lift(both intake & exhaust), & 221.5 duration @ .050 both sides. IIRC, it was ground on 112 lobe separation angles. It was a wild streeter in its day......you should hear it in a hot 283! The cam is old school, & still does work well in a high compression pump fuel mill........but there is much more power to be found in the newer grinds.
