Wheel Cylinders $$Cost$$ for 1 Ton RR

The Longhorn Rearend blew a seal and grease went all over the drum. Maybe that's why I was having trouble stopping. While it's apart thought nows a good time to add new wheel cylinders. I was lucky to get them for $56 each!!! I got prices from $73 -$95 each!!! These are for the leaf spring 1 ton brakes that are 13" x 2.5". I knew it wasn't going to be good cause in one of the catalogs it says..."Call for pricing"

YIKES...why don't you just kick all of us Longhorn owners in the gut? I would rather get that than pay that much for wheel cylinders.
So where was the best price found at?

Blue, did you have the leaf spring 1 ton brakes that are 13" x 2.5"? Probably not the same part #.

Supply and demand...your part was probably used into the next generation of trucks, and the ones Rob speak of were probably not.

true, also something that helps me is where i get my stuff at, they have almost anythign you could need and cheap. i know the calipers werent carried over, the guy handed me the boxes and said "you are REALLY lucky we had these, that year had a odd braking system, those are the only two in stock. "

Blue, seems chevy used a 1-year-only design on 71 calipers, they definitely classify as oddball. Haven't had to replace mine yet, hope they're still around when I need them.

Yeah, it was a kick in the gut when I found out.
The ones I got were part # wc9345 & wc9344 for left/right through a friend who can get them at dealer's cost. They were hard to find in stock. KOI Auto Parts had them in warehouse. Here's good news!!! and somthing I didn't know...you can get rebuild kits for these for about $7 Thanks Mike!
