Question Blazer soft top

I'm thinking about buying a soft top but don't know anything about them. Anybody got any pictures. Do they have to be up when on the truck or can they be put down like a Jeep top. Do they seal very good above the front doors. Any help would be appreciated.

There are two to choose from. Bestop and Specialty Top (formerly Kayline.) They are reasonable around the window seal, but obviously not as good as a hard top. I am planning on getting the fast trac top from Specialty Top. Here is a link to ST home page: http://www.specialtytopco.com./

The Fastrack folds down across the back with the side windows off and the spare lying on the floor. It takes 10-15 minutes to get the windows and top up. Rumor has it, Besttop is making a supreme? top for our trucks in the near future.

I'm waiting on the besttop to come out so I can check out the reviews. Some guys over on Colorado K5 mentioned problems with Specialty's fasttrack so I'd like to see what besttop has to offer.

I have an old Kayline top on my truck. It has rails that run across the top of the bed where the top snaps down. There are also snaps screwed into the top of the window frame and the top of the tail gate. It has frames over the doors that go into brackes on the top of the windshield frame. It folds down into the area behind the rear seat. It takes about 2 minutes to put down and about 5 minutes to put up. The side and back windows roll up for a safari look. It is a nice design with only a few areats that could be done better. The seal is "ok" around the doors but not perfect.

I have heard that the best tops don't fit quite as well as the SPC (Kayline) but Bestop is coming out with a new line soon. The snaps on mine can be a pain if it is cool outside (hard to stretch the top to the snaps). I have heard a few people complain about the fast-track design too, but I don't know what specificially they had problems with. My truck came with the top so I didn't have to install it. I have heard that the instructions from SPC are not very good and it is almost easier to install without them. There are a lot of people on ColoradoK5 with soft tops so you might check in over there. Also, if you are a member on the CK5 board, you get a discound on SPC tops.
