Here is a question for you 67-72 experts.

I bought this fender a few years ago. The seller said he had it for years and that it was an NOS fender. Kevin seemed to agree that it had never been bolted onto anything.

NOTICE THE TOP OF THE FENDER IS MISSING THE BRACKET THAT ATTACHES THE FENDER TO THE FENDER TO THE COWL/ FIREWALL.

Here is the questions;

What is the fender made for?

Does it have any value?

Hmm? OK, made in Mexico for 67-72 truck/blazer and we would have to check the " peso " exchange rate. lol!

Really, NOS would have the black electro/plated primer and with the surface rust, it looks like it has some road time. Intresting though...

You know, It kinda looks 68 style by looking at the nose of the fender??

No the rust you see is the other fender layed over the nos one just to show the diff between them. I checked it out prety well and it does apear to have never been installed. As for teh black coating that was not used back in 67/68 as far as I know. If it was our trucks would be in much better shape these days

It was 4:58 P.M. on friday back in 1968 and the fender fabricator guy (that's an official term) forgot to weld it on!

i agree 68 chev or a gmc the bracket was forgotton and never cought because it was never installed at the assembly plant. remember it was the sixtys and maybe after lunch break!

Keep in mind it does have a fully welded bracket on the fender just not one that will bolt to our trucks. It looks like it would have to bolt on from inside the cab out to the fender. In one of the pics you can see teh two bolt holes about 3" down from top of the fender and both the holes are tapped. The bracket is molder to fit this fender perfect so it was not a line mistake or just a wronge bracket. I also tried to see if teh fender would even lay were it should on the cab but this bracket holds the fender out about 1-2"

I just thought of something...... Didn't GM sell a truck that looked like a box??? I've seen pics of them on here. The ONLY part of the truck that looked like a 67-72 was the front clip, the cowl and windshield were fabricated like a box truck.... anyone understand what I mean? That would explain why the mount is somewhat flush with the back of the fender? That's my suggestion.

I did a search for the EGGMAN truck. It is a stepvan with a front clip but you couldn't really tell about the fender mounting. But looking at that I saw the wipers above the windows and a filled cowl piece - how cool would that be.

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe the firewall and stuff is square on these trucks and maybe that's what this fender is for?
