Rear End Question (AGAIN)

Ok I went to the Ecology Half Price sale on Saturday.
I missed out by 30 minutes on getting the whole fronend off a 68.
Anyway I found a 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a 6 cyl in it.
My question, I know a half ton has 3:73, what does a 3/4 or one ton with a six have in it? It looked very heavy duty.

It would be a corporate rear, & my guess would be a 4.57 gear.

its a little lower than a 4.11. my longhorn was a V8 truck ,& had 4.10s(or 11 ) whatever the case would be. a couple of the 6 cyl 3/4 trucks that I tore down had 4.57s . i cant really say whats the norm as far as options, but it seemed like 4.10 & 4.57 were pretty common in the 3/4 corporate rears. They also had a 5.14 gear in the bigger trucks.......talk about the eng screamin @ 50 mph!

yeah if it was a perfectly round diff cover with 10 bolts and was frickin huge it'd be an eaton with either 4.57 or 4.11 as stated earlier. BEEFY rear ends if the seals are good on em, but dont think about trying to get many parts because few people carry them and low (numerically) gear ratios arent around.
