Roll bar/cage?

Short of contacting a custom fabrication shop, has anyone run across some pre-fabricated kits for 73-87s; namely crew cabs? I doubt it, but I had to ask.

I've often thought about putting heavy steel tubing from door frame to door frame in the middle of my '73 crew's cab to strengthen it during a side impact. With the frame rails being more inward, you don't have much cab protection. Some steel tubing in the middle of the cab to make sort of a brace across, and then perhaps at a tube at the top for rollover/roof protection would be nice as well.

Anyone every gone at this alone?

Re: Roll bar/cage?

Look up SW racecars. They sell prefabbed kits for regular cab trucks and family cages for K5's. Might be able to use the front section for the reg cab kit and add a second b-pillar hoop in the rear and add tube to connect it.

Re: Roll bar/cage?

Jegs has a rollbar kit for 73-05 c10 pickups 4,8,10, or 12 point. None for crewcabs but you would have a nice start.
