Question Shift Speed?

Greetings All:

I've had my truck (69 C10 SWB with a 350/TH350) for about 3
months now. I've noticed that it shifts rather quickly. By 25MPH
its already in high gear (2 shifts). Would this be normal? Bye the
way, the tranny fluid looks clear and bright red.

Was also wondering what I can do to save gas? The current
rear end is a 3.73. I popped the inspection cover and the ring
gear is stamped 11:41. Good thing I did, there was only about a
handful of really black lube in there. Had considered a different tranny, but a 700r4 is fairly expensive. Any thoughts this or the above?

That doesn't sound normal. There is a line pressure on t-350's and you may have it adjusted wrong. It's the second cable below the throttle cable at the carburetor.

If you accelerate very slowly, the transmission will be in high gear by the time you hit 25 mph. If you are stepping on the gas and it shifts into high by 25, then the cable needs adjusting as Guitarman indicated.
