I agree, make sure before you do a restomod on it that when it's finished it's exactly what you want. If you want a serious custom, it might be better to start with another truck.

if you clean the dash pad really well- super clean and then rubbing alcohol

then use an spray adhesive then a really good plastic paint you can turn it gold

I have painted alot of interior panels and there are two keys

1- clean it really well and wear rubber gloves

2- put as little paint and adhesive on the panel. just enough to cover and shine, usually one light coat
