need help w/ part# radiator
Hey guys, I punctured my radiator today pretty badly working on the truck and now I need to get one fast (like before next weekend) but need help with where to get one. I have a 350 smallblock, with manual tranny and *no* a/c. Just looking for a stock replacement that will be a direct bolt-in fit. Does Summit stock them? There is a local radiator shop here in town close to my work that I could pick one up from, just need to know what to ask for when I go in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have used a Monte Carlo radiator in a 67 before.I think it was a 76 model.GM was very good about interchangability on parts.I think I did have to use a different hose on the lower but it worked fine.If you're going to buy new(I couldn't afford it when I did the Monte one,and I had just put the engine from the Monte in the truck)the BB members have posted a site before where radiator run around $150.00 new.Maybe a search will turn it up or by TTT you will get a response.

www.radiatorbarn.com I have used them several times and like their service and product. Just double check what you have for # of rows, 2,3, or 4 core. It should be a 3 with your options.

After getting a n online quote.. including the shipping, go to your rad shop and see what they can do. There is a cheaper route that they can do locally for you. If you get a 73 - 87 unit, they can cut off the lower outlet, which will come straight out instead of angled up like you need, and they can braze on your old neck from your leaking rad. I have done this twice, and both times was less than 100 bucks out the door.

I pulled out the rad and it is a 2-row, no oil cooler or anything. Would I benefit from going to a 3-row? What's the difference? It always ran fine w/ the one I had. I went to the local parts store today and they didn't have one in stock but said they could get it here in a couple days. Brand is Visteon. Price was like 179. Should I just do that?

Got my radiator today. I decided to spend the extra money and get a 4-core rad. especially for the hot temps down here in sunny florida. Went to pick it up today and it is a Modine radiator. Looks really nice. How much improvement in lower temps should I expect from old setup vs. new?
Old: 2-core radiator original unit, basically non-existent fan shroud (only top 1/4 was left) New: 4-core rad brand new, full fan shroud

Did you get new mounts for the upper and lower on the radiator? 4 cores are longer to compensate for the thicker radiator. I would have gotten a built in trans oil cooler in case I ever wanted to convert. How much was it?

is your radiator.. Modine part# 369... or part# 366
I believe you either had option of #366 3 row w/o cooler or #369 4 row with cooler... either way good price, I sell both these part numbers for about $230.00 to $250.00 locally... VetteVet is correct the #369 (4-row) is deeper front to back, you will need to get new "rubbers" for the perches,... if I remember correctly, you will also need new top brackets, the ones that mount to the top of the radiator support to hold the radiator... I think the 4 row needs a longer top bracket... Maybe someone can correct me on that part... The vendors on this board have what you may be needing to change,... You did good by upgrading to more rows... every dime you spend on this radiator is a worthwhile investment...

Ditto on what Vette says, the 4core rad is thicker, and will not fit in the upper and lower mounts of the 2-3 core rad.

I got the 369. And Vetvette is correct, my upper mounting brackets are too short. I can modify them temporarily to make it work, but I'm gonna need new brackets. Anyone know where I can get new brackets to work? I looked in the Brothers catalog and they only have the standard brackets. The lower brackets fit ok, I just need uppers.

Well, got everything in and running. I modified my stock brackets to work, the angle grinder was my friend. The pass side bracket needed very little modding, just had to bend the back end of the bracket out a little. The driver side bracket I had to trim some off one side as it was hitting the rad tank on the outside. After that, everything fit up pretty good. My new fan shroud I got from 71swb4x4 fit great with the new radiator and what a difference a full shroud made!! At idle the fan pulls so good through the rad that I can actually watch the temp gauge drop a little while there is no load on the motor. Last step was topping off after I drove around for about 15 minutes. Everything is looking good. Only thing I need to change soon is the lower hose. It's kinked a little bit. I bought a new one for this rad but it just doesn't fit like it should. I had to do a little trimming off the ends and it still doesn't have quite the perfect bends in it. Guess I'm gonna have to hunt some more. No leaks though so that was good. It smells nice too, I love the smell of new parts after they get hot.

GMC Pauls and Brother's both have the 4 row mounts ... uppers and lowers ... don't forget the rubber peices too.
