suspension spring ratings

been told by ny garage that i need new front springs on the front of my 69 stepside as someone in the past has cut them down and the truck is riding on bump stops, could someone tell me what lb rating are the spring and some dimensions of the springs IE length open, length closed, im going to have to use universal ones as im in uk and they are had to get hold of, any info would be gratefully recieved, many thanks

order them from the states

use a company like lmc or even autozone
