Alignment questiion - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Finally I am done with my disc brake swap (I think at least!!). Part of the swap was rebuilding front end as well. Now I need to take the truck down the stand and take it for test drive and alignment but when I look at my truck from the front, the front tires ,specially on the right side, are directed toward the center of the truck. I did measure the tie rod's legnth when I disassembled the old ones and I use the same shims when I but back the control arms but still I have this problem. Now, how can I grossly set the alignment in a way that I can take it to the shop? While back I read a similar post but I cant not find it now.

If it's only a toe problem, you can take a measurement with a tape measure at the inside of the wheels with the steering wheel centered and make adjustments on the tie rod ends accordingly. On a two wheel drive you'll want a 3/16" toe-in at the front. This would be easier with the front end on jackstands. Recheck your steering wheel after adjustments are made. This should get you to the alignment shop. Test drive vehicle to make sure it doesn't pull left or right before driving at higher speeds on busy highways, for the safety of you and others.
