Does anyone know if reproduction backing plates for front drum brakes are available? I have 68 1/2 ton stepside that I would like to replace the wore original backing plates. I am not interested in changing them to disc at the present time. All the junkyard backing plates I found, are just as worn or worse than the ones I have. This has got to be a problem for other members too.
Any suggestions would be great!

I think NAPA used to list some of these.

I have some also, unknown condition though. They are on a truck that i am building and will never use them. I will have discs before it ever drives again.

Thanks for the replies. I will first check my NAPPA parts store for new plates tommorrow. The "other" parts stores near by, could not get them. If my local NAPPA can't come up with the backing plates, then I will follow-up on your offers for help. I am located in San Diego, California which is a long way from you folks. Let me check locally, then I will give you a update.
