Re: progress pics

put the box on today, looks much better!

and if your wondering about the different wheels and tires.... I will be running the ones that you see on the rears, just the fronts wont hold air.

the drop is cut coils up front and rear axle flip.
i will be replacing the coils with proper drop springs and drop spindles and also some 2" shackles out back.

Re: progress pics

Looking good ...
and even better when you go lower.

BTW, I wonder why most everyone uses a 2" shackle with the flip kip instead a 1" lower block with 'extended' U-bolts? Wouldn't it help from cutting the bed floor cross support. Just wonderin' out loud ...

If you are like me, it is because you did a shackle/hanger drop first...then decided you wanted to go lower later on down the road.

Besides, stepsides might not have the same clearance issues fleetsides have...I don't recall them having those huge cross sill in the way.

Re: progress pics

I follow you, Jeff.

But, I don't think I've ever come across where someone first lowered the rear with a flip kit and turned around and added a lowering block. They always seem to add the shackle.

It's something how GM put those cross sills right above the hanger on the short fleetsides...

Re: progress pics

It amazes me how just a nice static drop changes the look of a truck.

Nice work

Re: progress pics

update: i cant afford to finish the body work before winter (need to save for motor for the stang), so i decided to put the old fenders back on. painted them along with the drivers door with a lil spray bomb. took the driveshaft in today to be shortened. so for it to be on the road now, all she needs are some taillights, mount fenders, hood, bolt in the seat. then i also need to tint side windows and rear window. and other random stuff needs to be done.

Re: progress pics

how much did you cut off the front coils? Drop looks perfect. Did you have to notch the frame for the rear axle flip?

Re: progress pics

Looks good.

It's all down hill from there.

But are these pictures taken before you replaced the front fenders and did some body work on the corner of the cab?
