New guy from Southwest Mississippi

Hi gang. I have lurked around here a few times in the past and decided to join in. I have a '70 C10 lwb stepside that I have been working on for about 5 years and it is almost complete. Should be driving it soon.

Some of you here may recognize me from another site, if so, glad to join you here as well.

I will post pics as soon as I figure out how. I did manage to figure out the Avatar thing but have been unable to add a pic to a post. When trying to browse my 'puter for a pic to add, I always get a message that the file size is too big. Maybe someone will give me a heads up on this.

Re: New guy from Southwest Mississippi

Thanks for the welcome. I think I have the picture thing figured out. I resized some of my pics to get them under the 100 kb limit. If this works, I will post a couple of others in the 67-72 forum.

McComb, eh? My old hometown! Tell me more. Your name wouldn't happen to be Jerry would it?

Re: New guy from Southwest Mississippi

Okay then, tell us more about your truck. What drivetrain are you running? What are you future plans?

Re: New guy from Southwest Mississippi

The truck came with a 350 in it but it was pretty well shot when I got it. I replaced it with a remaned 350 and haven't been able to drive it much since then because of doing all the body work and such. Still has the original manual tranny with the 3-on-the-tree shifter. I love it, reminds me of my high school days when this truck was only a few years old.

I have done a lot of rust repairs; cutting out and welding in patch panels and doing other body work. This truck will never be a "show" truck by any means but that was never my intention. I just want it to be in good condition and look decent. I also want to be able to enjoy driving it and maybe enter it in a couple of the local antique auto shows.
