Grille

Does anyone know if the 1969-70 grilles can be put into a 1972? Also...what parking lamp lens assemblies do you use for the 70 grille? I can't find any place that has them. Thank you all.

Re: Grille

Chevy or GMC? Chevy has the same radiator support from 69-72. 69-70 had the parking lights in the grill...

Re: Grille

Chevy. I have a 72 blazer that I am putting tubular bumpers on. I wanted to use a 70 grille with the turn signals (parking lamps) in the grille. Will it fit? Also, where can I get the parking lamp assemblies for the 69-70? Are they the same as for the 67-68? Thank you very much for your response.

Re: Grille

Yes, the grill will bolt right in. No the 69-70 parking lights are different than 67-68. You might have to check with a junk yark for the housings...

Re: Grille

Thank you. Do you know why NO ONE, not one shop shop I have found anywhere online has them? Do you think that maybe the housings could be the same, but that the lense is different? Well...thank you so much anyways for your time.

Re: Grille

I think the hood release lever is located in a different location between a 70 and a 72 Chevy. The 70 should have the release lever in the center of the grille support, and on the 72 it will be offset to the right a bit.
The center grille support is also different. You can see the difference in the LMC catalogs.
I recently had to change mine from a 70 to a 72 grille, and I got the parts from a parts truck.

Re: Grille

The housings are simply not reproduced anywhere that I have found. You can buy the lenses. Everything posted above looks right from what I have found. Pay-in and post up on the parts board for a want to buy, someone is sure to have them. It won't be the last time you use it, well worth the $25.
