dual gas tanks

i have an 86 gmc with dual gas tank setup, i have a lot of crapppy hose, lots of rubber to plastic to metal and so forth. i was wondering would braided steel hose be easier and more secure to use then rubber/plastic/metal hose and connections?

The rubber hoses were install to allow movement between the parts and the frame. If you install steel hoses they won't flex like rubber hoses which could lead to major leaks. Stick to the rubber hoses and use good clamps.

Guys, he said braided hose.

crackajacka,

where exactly are you talking about putting braided hose? I have it for my fuel line going from the fuel pump to the carb. With braided hose, you have to use AN fittings. It is real expensive but it does look good.

Oops, the server for my website is down. I was going to leave you a pic to look at.

Maybe it'll be back up in a little bit.

Braided hoses are just coverings for plastic hoses right? I got a full set of stainless steel braids for my B-day. Next time I take a hose off I just add the braid over the hose.
Are yours really different Mike?

The fuel line setup is Aeroquip stainless steel braided high pressure hose, with AN fittings.

Yes there is a difference. I have the Aeroquip overbraid on my radiator, heater, and A.I.R. hoses. This is a stainless steel braid which goes over the existing hoses. This is not to be confused with the cheap hose coverings you can buy.

Question Fuel Line

Mike how did run your fuel line from the pump? What did you use? I need to redo my line and was going to use the stainless steel lines but wondering how you did yours. Looks like behind the alt?
