Tell me what you think....

This is my plan...

Im currently looking for an 87-93 Chevy full size truck/burb.

I wanna yank the TBI 454/OD tranny out of it and stab it in my truck.

TBI is cheap and easy to do, of course Im gonna go through the motor....freshen up the bottom end, little meaner cam, lots and LOTS of porting, and have one of my buddies burn me a nice chip for the PCM.

That way I still have some power when I need it, the reliabilty and drivability of FI, and the lower Rs at cruising speeds.

Not only that...but Ill also get a serpentine system to go with it all.

What do you think? Should I do this....or safe for 2 years and buy the 502 Ramjet?

Re: Tell me what you think....

I like to look at this: How much can you find a 3/4 ton truck/burb for & how much will it take to freshen it up???? How much is a ramjet 502??? go from there. I think you can find a truck for $3500-$4000, dump a couple grand into the motor, be into it for about $6k...part/or sell the donor vehicle.

I don't know what I'd do.
