I knew that you didn't forget about me. Your engine bay set-up looks real clean. I know that it gets busy behind the distributor with plugs wires & kickdown cable. I am most interested in the clearence around the carb rod linkage & the cable. I hate to think of a possible stuck wide open throttle. I like the way you did your linkages.
I have never adjusted a kickdown cable before, can you go over the proceedure again. Thank you for the pics! |

Re: Pics for SideSteppr
I ran into a bit of a clearance problem with the throttle rod and that top portion of the bracket. Hence the slight bend in the rod, I'm thinking of trimming off that top portion of that bracket for more clearance. Maybe this weekend. As for the cable adjustment, there is a 'clip' sort of half moon shaped and part of the housing in the portion of the cable just behind the spring. On mine it took a bit to get it released and it doesn't come off... Once open attach the cable to your carburetor linkage then position linkage to the WOT position. Using a pair of channel locks close the clip back into the housing until you hear it click. And that's it!
I must have thrown the packaging for the bracket away so I don't have the p/n. But I've seen them at Checker auto also although it was cheaper at napa, go figure Hope that helps...
