tilt column question.... again

ok guys and gals.....i need some ideas, i definatley want to get a tilt column, if i have to go with stock than i will but i would like to open my options...what else will fit in our trucks.....tell me about yours and what you had to do/fab/break .... to make it work...thanks all

Ordered a refurbished unit from a guy on ebay for 225.00 and bolted it right in

when I was shopping for one, there was atleast one on ebay at all times.

I got mine for $40.00 from a wreaking yard. 1978 Chevy van fits perfect. You have to adjust the shaft by tapping with a hammer on the end to collapse the shaft. They were designed to collapse upon impact and the shaft has small plastic inserts that will give away as to adjust for lenght because the shaft is about 3 inches too long.
Opps, sorry Southpa, I should have opened up your article. But that was the way I did mine. very easy install.
