396munice, The "correct" color for the hub caps is Blue. My caps are 1973-1976. My truck came from the factory with white painted hub caps with the blue bowtie. I bought these NOS caps about 8 years ago. NOS blue bowtie caps are impossible to find.

Thanks a lot, Joe. I finally have the answer!! I know what you mean, I can't find even USED blue bowtie hubcaps, let alone NOS. Thanks again.

I'd love to sound knowledgable about it, but I have no idea, when it comes down to parts and all. I do know that it's originally a 454ci block bored 60 over (i think it's 60, may be 30???) to make 468ci....can't remember. The one I am installing belonged to a friend that simply wanted more power for the track. More money than brains, if you ask me...LOL. The motor is awesome and has some good parts in it, becasue he has the money. It just wasn't fast enough for him at the track, but with the right components, will be just fine for my ride. I finally resolved my motor mount bracket issue (didn't realize that the brackets differ between BB and SB), so I SHOULD be done by this weekend.

I will try and post some progress pics this weekend.

Jesse

Re: Big Block Trucks

Prostreet
I did the console out of ¾” MDF. Keep in mind I had no clue how to do the rest. It never looked that hard on tv, so I gave it a try. The sides and lid had ½” foam glued on and then a gray vinyl. Bought it from a local fabric shop. Also I was too lazy to cut every notch and curve on the bottom. So I overhung the foam and fabric. It worked out pretty good. It was pretty cheap on the wallet. Home Depot sells the diamond plate. But I figured it would be too difficult to work with. So H.D. also sells a plastic diamond plate piece.
