Ok now that I have the front suspension in from a '79 Chevy, can I simply order a front brake line from a '72 that runs along the front of the crossmember?? Would that then connect to the existing rubber lines from the caliper?? I imagine the line would have a "t" in it, & it would then need to be connected to the distribution valve. I have a booster/master cylinder/distribution valve I plan on using from a '71 3/4 ton. Does this sound like it would work?? I would be ordering the lines from Inlne Tube or Classic Tube or????

I dunno why I didn't think of this before, because I read on here before that you can do this, but I plan on buying some brake line lengths from AutoZone to connect the front rubber hoses (I am replacing these as well) to the existing brake line coming from the master cylinder. What size is the line?? They are asking on their website if it is 3/16", 1/4", etc...

When I swap an 86 complete front end into my 67 SWB, I used the 86 brake lines they fit really well. I also the 86 proportioning block and only had drill the mounting holes on the crossmember. Fitting the brake booster was a little more involved.
Do a search on this site and there is a thread that go's into detail about what is needed

your best bet is just getting some straight sections of 3/16 line and bending them to your needs. you can bend them either with your hands or a tubing bender but the bender will make it look alot nicer. also if you want them to look really nice take an old metal coat hanger, straighten it out and then use it to moc up your lines making bends where needed. then use the bent up coat hanger to mark and bend your brake lines to match. i did this on my 69 and it worked great for both my brake lines and trans cooler lines.

btw if you need to make the curly cues that allow for some flex in the lines by the master, take a large socket and clamp it in a vice. bend the pipe around it and you'll have a perfect curly cue. doing this in 3/16's is easy, however 1/4in is doable but a pain.

I took a closer look at the '79 prop. valve, I think I will go with that as opposed to using the one from the '71 3/4 ton. Hopefully, I will try this out today or tomorrow...I think I should only have to make a partial rear line and the 2 lines going to the MC. Thanks for the tip on how to make the flex curves, I was wondering about that...
