Air Bag Question?
You guys with air bags, Did you have to cut into the bed in order to clear the rear Axle? I already have my frame C-notched. If not how low can I go with out cutting into the bed?

Re: Air Bag Question?
Good question, I would like to know as well. I have bumpstops on my notch, but still close to hitting I think. Hey low72, I'm stationed at Pope, we should meet up some time. There is a toy run at Legends Pub from 12-2 Saturday the 18th sponsored by the Steel Angels. You gonna ride out? Let me know.

Re: Air Bag Question?
I have the bolt-in style c-sections, F6873 front bags & 1.5" lowering blocks on the rear my 68.
My rear axle tubes actually tuck into the notched area of the frame @ ride height (30~35psi). I use what's left of the original wood floor as my bumpstop. It hits occasionally judging by the missing wood directly above the pumpkin. If I let the air completely out, it definitely hits the bed floor.

Re: Air Bag Question?
Not the best pic, but you get the idea, this truck was aired out with the diff touching the bottom of the bed floor.

Re: Air Bag Question?
I cut a square out in my bed to clear the pumpkin. I took the bumpstops out of my CPP notches and the diff was hitting the bed floor so I broke out the cutoff wheel and went to town. Now it's now low enough again, so I'm going to step notch it.

Re: Air Bag Question?
You can find pics in the suspension forum, and it details my buildup in another thread in there as well.
Jimmydean, I've been looking seriously into the dropmember as well. You know, my initial plan was to just fix a few things, and get it ready for paint. Well, I'm looking at a whole new realm now. Once I got it slightly disassembled all these ideas started popping into my head and well, ya know.....
