There is one of these sitting in a field near where I live. Been there for a long time. Looks to be all stock. I was thinking about seeing if it was for sale. Just wondering what might be a good starting point of $$$ to offer the guy? I can't find too much info on these trucks on here. Thanks

Depends on a lot of things of course. My fleetside 68 K-10 SWB cost me $1600 and it was from NY (= rust). Hadn't run for 7 years too... Send some pics so that we can judge....

Depends on 3 things in my opinion. 1) How truly "original" it is? 2) Rust, if it has spent its whole life in SoCal, it is probably minimal. 3) Last time it ran? Just because it may have an engine in it, doesn't mean that it is salvageable. Is it a short wheel base? We need pics or more info!

It's rare, offer pennies for it and see what happens. If it was a 292 4 speed i would offer but I am on the other coast. If you get it and it's a 292 and if you part it let me know. Lot's of "if's" but can't hurt to ask.

67 4x4's.... Last year for the SM 420 tranny, hooked to Rockwell T221 transfer. The tranny will howl, the transfer will leak. The closed knuckle D44 sucks as far as turning radius goes and the drum brakes are average at best. Great trucks for collectors because of fairly low production numbers and they will be 40yrs old in a few months. Did you buy it yet?

but the leaks are minimal... (most days)
and who needs to turn around in less than 2 city blocks anyway?
brakes, that's why I have a manual tranny...

LOL! just had to be a PITA! I'd snag that in a heartbeat, and be proud of it for the rest of its life!!! It won't be anything close to a new truck, but man what a jewel!

I'm thinking about changing my 68 over to a newer D44 with disc brakes, 1 ton booster, and power steering. I have heard that works well with a 67 or 68. Anyone done that?
