Sat. Help. Timing....

I am trying to get my truck to stop ping ping ping ping....

I found my timing mark but not sure what to do next?

Here is a pic with where my timing light shows.

Which way on the dizzy is advance

Looking down on the dizzy which way to turn it.

First time timing this sucker.

if your looking at the dist. advance would be to turn it clockwise or vacume cannister tward the firewall, and retard would be counterclockwise. You might need to go to a step colder plug or higher tess gasoline.

I have Sunoco 94 in it.

The plugs might be it but I havn't turned the dizzy to much yet.
I tried getting it hot and just keep turning it till it stops with no luck.

I thing I have so hot plugs I'll get the numbers

Does GAP have anything to do with ping ping pop ping ping ping

Because I have it gapped big at 45 I think

well I tried it somemore and got a nice backfire up the new 1406 ouch

Maybe I should take it to Wally boss mechanic at the chevy truck dealership
before I break something.

How about the valves? If they are loose would that help out the ping ping pop
???? Need some advice ????
