short bed stepside maintanance

I starting on the body of my '86 stepside. I need to work on the fenders on the bed. Can I unbolt the fenders from the box w/o unbolting the whole bed?. I see the bolts from the box wall to the fender, but the step comes w/ the fender... what about those bolts??? Or is it easier to remove the whole bed. I see the 8 bolts through my wood floor, is that it?
thanks

Re: short bed stepside maintanance

To un bolt the fenders you do not need to take the bed off completely. You can unbolt the fender from the step first then dissconnect the gas filler from the fender then you have to un bolt fender from bed I would start from the bottom then work your way up on both sides. that way the last bolt is the center one on top. To remove bed completely Remove gas filler(s) rear electrical harness its just as simple as unplugging it and then the eight bolts.
