Trucks w/ tinted windows

Hiya everyone!

Well I'm 'bout to get my windows tinted here pretty soon, regardless of the tint laws here in California, and was wondering if you could humor me and post some pics of 67-72 trucks with tinted windows.

I guess maybe tint comes in different colors? I dunno, but I don't wanna go with anything extreme. Just black tint, or blue to match the paint job. And I wanna go really dark, but not so dark that I have to roll down the windows at night. You dig?

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

My windows are technically 0% because its two layers of 5%...
I am going to tint the windshield 35% later to look meaner when its painted.

This might be a dumb question but can you see out of double layer 5%?

Here's a pic of mine with what's called Dark Smoke - VLT 35%. It passes Iowa law. If you used what camaro__thunder has on his here in Iowa you would get busted in a heartbeat.....

I've had double layers of 5% myself, and daytime is about the only time you can see out (except headlights at nite)

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

I've got 2% on the back glass and 35% on the doors. The windshield is also done top to bottom with 35%. No problems til a back up light burns out.

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

For a short time it was legal in Georgia. The key is to have the windshield a lighter shade then the doors. The lightly tinted windshield will give the other glass the illusion of being darker. Mt wife was stopped by the Georgia state Patrol for not having a visible plate (it was a temp that was in the back glass). The officer decides to check her tint and it checked legal. He even said that the darker back glass made the doors look illegal even though they checked fine. Every vehicle we own has the front glass tinted on it. Here's a pic of the car she was driving when she was stopped.

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

SeeTen how is the visability out of the front window at 35%. I'd imagine it is like wearing sunglasses so I would guess it would not be such a great thing at night.

see ten, thanks for clearing that up...maybe I'll go ahead and redo the back 5% sides 20% and maybe some 35% on the windshield.

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

Here in minnesota, you can go as dark as you want in the back, but anything 50% or darker is illegal on the sides, and i don't believe you can tint the windshield.

I believe it's the % of light that can pass through...

so the lower the number, the darker the tint.

50% is practically nothing
5% is Dark as hell

Visibility out the front is excellent. You are still going to be wearing your sunglasses as the tint is very light. You don't really notice it until you end up in a rural area with your lowbeams on (in which case you should be running your hi beams ). It really helps at night if your eyes are sensitive to the light of oncoming traffic.

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

I took all my glass out and replaced it with tinted safety glass 28% sides and 5% rear. No more scatched or peelling tint. Still leagal because its safety glass. Easy to replace on these trucks because its flat glass and not as expensive as you might think. Very clear too

Re: Trucks w/ tinted windows

Wow, tinted windows make for one sharpe truck....

they're pretty strict on tinted windows here in CA. The fuzz can't see what kind of guns you might be waving around inside the cab (what with all that bloods and crypts junk going on down here).

Anyway, I won't let that little diddy about tint limits on side windows get me. But I'll leave the windshield alone with it's cool little tint strip at the top. Thanks for all the photos!
