Need help with wheel choice! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I don't want to spend much on wheel upgrade. What should I do to make it look Nice(sweet). Paint rims,Buy OE hub caps, buy hubs from newer wheels, Any tips or hints?

Repaint your wheels the stock silver, get some nice new trim rings, and shine up those caps. That would be pretty inexpensive and look great with the color of your truck. Lots of fellas here run these wheels.

You can find new late model chevy truck (88-98) trim rings on ebay for about $35. They are the skinny ones and look real good. The caps are pretty easy to freshin up too.

Just my .02 cents
Powder coat the wheels silver , my powder coater just does the front , keeps the cost down , find the factory trim rings , wrecking yard or swap meets , not too spendy , and turn the white letters to the inside , imho . I'm a major Ralley fan . Nice blue paint btw , i really like that color .

I scuffed mine down & shot some Hammertite on them, added some decent used rings, & a set of spinners on the caps (cheap fix), but it looks clean

Or if you are tired of the ralleys look for a set of affordable used wheels. I bought a set of 4 15x8 aluminum slots for $80 off ebay. Here is an example of what a set would look like...

I love ralleys. Clean them up, paint them silver or body color yourchoice. New or clean up the trim rings and center caps. You can also change out the center caps with those used on the 88-98 trucks, but you'll need to change lugs to do that.

BTW if you look in the yards, and find trim rings from the F150, they do not have the sharp bends, they are more rounded and look real good. Used them on my old 96 and probably will on my 70.

I painted My wheels to match the truck and added trim rings and derby caps.
