SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

Alright. Well I've had a thread on finding a set of SHORTY Headers for my K5, and my C10 needs a pair soon. I'm looking for a good set of SHORTY headers to clear everything, that I wont have to modify. I want shorties, because I dont wanna fight the ground for room on the headers. I want my 2wd to be low, and my 4wd to not have anything hanging down below the frame. I was wondering if I posted some pictures of headers, of the kind I'm looking to get if anyone would be able to tell if they'd hit. The first two pictures look like they'd miss the motor mounts, and that's my biggest concern, it looks like i have plenty of room between the frame and motor. Just needs to clear the motor mount. Please help me pick a set. Thanks fellas
Brandon

Re: SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

Just posted some info on this thread.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=215994

I am almost sure that a Hedman 69648 will fit without any modifications but they only have 1-1/2" 'primary tubes.

I have Sandersons, love the quality and fit. VERY thick flanges too.

Re: SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

Smog exempt here as well. Dont E check in KY. But The first 2 pictures I posted looks like they'll clear the motor mount... Anyone think so too? I love the look of the Sanderson headers too, but I am looking for a coated set for about 200. They sell for like 180 on ebay, it's just a matter of finding some that fit. keep the comments coming fellas.

Re: SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

I agree, the first two sets look like they should clear the motor mounts without any problem. Depending on how high you want your exhaust (especially on your lowered truck) they may be a little long to get the exhaust tucked into the frame.

These are the headers from your post:

These are the headers I bought:

From the pictures, it looks like the headers I purchased are quite a bit shorter than the ones you found and I will be using a fairly tight mandrel bend at the collector to tuck the exhaust beside the frame.

Here is a picture of where the flange fits on the driver's side.

Re: SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

I put Edelbrock shotys on my 91 Silverado and you can get them with no smog tube. I got the ones with the ceramic coating and it stands up real well. The mounting for your truck should not be any different. Plenty of room for spark plugs, also.

Re: SHORTY HEADERS. Help pick some out

I'd be wary of buying $200 ceramic coated headers on Ebay. Sounds awfully cheap. Just my $0.02
