Rallye Wheel Cap Bolts

I Asked This One Before And Was Told To Go To Home Depot Does Anyone Have Or Want To Sell Any Bolts For The Center Caps For 72-87 Rally Wheels Or Have An Idea How I Can Replace Them. I Bought 5/16 X 3/4 And 1/2, 1/2 Is Too Short And 3/4 Wont Bolt All The Way Up, The Originals Appear To Be Tapered 3/4 But Of Course I Cant Find These Online Or At A Hardware Store And The Dealership Wants 4 Bucks Apiece For The Damn Things.

Re: Rallye Wheel Cap Bolts

How much room is left to go before they will tighten up? I used stainless hardware store bolts with a washer and they worked great. The first time installing I had to crank them pretty hard the last bit, maybe that "made" more room for them, but it worked out OK. Took them off a few times and no problems reusing them. I am pretty sure they were 3/4 length, but I don't have them anymore to check.

Re: Rallye Wheel Cap Bolts

They should be 5/16 x 3/4 self-tapping , you should be able to get them at a place like Fasteners , if they have them in your area , they started out just selling nuts and bolts . I'll check my local store out later today , see what they have .

Re: Rallye Wheel Cap Bolts

Our local Auto Value parts store has them in their "Help" items. They are packaged three to a package and are very good reproductions.

Autozone used to carry them but I have not looked there lately.

Re: Rallye Wheel Cap Bolts

Those original bolts are ugly! Get some stainless.
I don't think these pics will show very well, but I use threaded rod and cut it to length, but the trick is stainless acorn nuts. They are clean & smooth and match the acorn lug nuts and don't rust.
