Your Suspension opinions wanted

I was going to take a 2wheel drive frame that had power steering and cut the frame off and weld it in place of my 68 4x4 so that I could have power steering. But now Im thinking about using the hole frame and keep the coil spring rear or air bags, and use a coil spring front end out of a new doge for the front. Or should I keep it the way it is with leaf springs and just add the power steering . What do you guys think. The coils on all 4 corners would be different and would probably ride great I could even do air in the front. I don’t plan on doing a lot of off roading with it it will be more of a toy towing trailer every once in a while.

Re: Your Suspension opinions wanted

Unless I am mistaken all you have to do is bolt on a power steering box from anything all the way up to like 1987. Of course it must be from another 4x4. I can't remember which is which but one box has a pitman arm that moves front to back and the other has one that moves from side to side. The only time you should be putting a 2wd box on a 4wd frame is during a crossover steering conversion.

Re: Your Suspension opinions wanted

The frames are diffrent thier dimpled in you can heat up the frame an beat in the dimple or you can cut one off of a 2nd frame to use. IM using a 2 wheel drive box for cross over steering on it. the biggest reason I want the 2wd frame is so I have some place to stick the body why I build the new drive trian or to use as a starting point for the build. Just cant decide if I want to keep the 68 origanl or build something totaly diffrent.

here is a pic of a 71 and a 68 frame at the steering box you can see the 68 is strait and flat and the 71 has a bend to clear the steering box.
