One way to tell if it's pre 68 is at the rear of the block beside the distributor on the drivers side there will be a road draft tube , it's the crank case vent . It may have been pluged with a freeze plug but if it's there it's definitly pre 68 block. also, You can call the GM dealer and give them the # and
thay can tell you what it is.
