Power steering hoses?
Which inlet on the steering box is the pressure side and which is the return. One's fitting is bigger than the other.....is the big one the pressure side?
Thanks!

Re: Power steering hoses?
Small is pressure
Large is return. No matter what the application the return is the larger line.

Re: Power steering hoses?
John not sure how your steering box is hooked up but my trucks the larger fitting(11/16 Nut)is for the pressure line and the smaller back or upper fitting 5/8 nut) is the return line.

By pressure port, I assume you are meaning the fittings on the gearbox (frame mounted)...I know mine hoses are correct. I purchased an ACDelco part for the '71 model, but had it modified (reproduced) by classic tube. It turned into a PIA due to the serpentine conversion...same with lower and upper radiator hoses. The details are the killer.... __________________ 71 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleetside RamJet-350/4L60e & Compushift/3.73Posi See it at www.prismnet.com/~grzanich Last edited by nandress; 01-02-2007 at 12:15 AM. |

Re: Power steering hoses?
OK...looks like the port (on the box) that is closest to the engine is the high pressure side.
I went from the original setup to the later style pump as well and it's been apart a fricken LONG time.

Re: Power steering hoses?
Solver gets the cigar. I should have looked first. Both lines are the same size, just the fitting is larger.
