Camshaft ID help please
hey guys,
i got my hands on a FREE 350 bored .030 with flat head pistons and i have just about everything ID'd but the cam. i've tried everything i can think of with no luck. as far as i can tell it's not a stock cam and since the engine only had very few miles on it the cam isin't even broken in all the way. if you can help please let me know. here's the number on the back of the cam stamped: 2019 m c thanks, ondrew |

You could try e-mailing different cam companies tech supprt. That # may be a grind code or stock #. Or, you could get a dial indicator and degree wheel and degree it out for the actual specs if the engine is sitting in your shop.

If you have already tore it down, and did not mark where the lifters go on what lobe, I'd just scrap the idea of trying to find out what it is. Once an engine has been fired up, just for a short time, (about 20 minutes), the lifters are then matched to the cam. Mixing them up is not good. You'll wipe the cam out in a very short time. I'd get a new cam and lifter set and be done with it.....

i have the lifters stored in order and a full set of new ones as backup. as for just getting a new cam i'd honestly rather not spend $200 i don't have so i was hoping to ID the one that's in it because the only other cam i have laying around is a stock one. as for tearing it down to see what i rally have well it's funny you mention it. i pulled the pan to pull a couple caps to see what it looked like and i found it to be about 10mins from spining the berrings. needless to say i just finished putting the bottom end back together with all new berrings, a freshly cut crank and new rings. even with that i'm only about $160 into it including the gasket set.
