2001 SS Camaro. Best I could get out of it was a 7.2 1/8 mile. Still having a little problem with traction. Here's a pic and a vid of the semi finals at the last EFI class I entered it in.

Sorry, Henry J gasser project is an old staright axle gasser in great shape... but.... definition of "project" means the same as "suffed in the back shed unit room is opened up in the shop" when my C-10 is back on the road (hopefully shortly), will start digging the mice out of the henry.

Re: Drag Racing

Nice rides, especially the drag trucks. How do you guys get your trucks to hook up, being their is hardly any weight in the back? The guy who had my truck had a blower 454 in it, and he said with that motor in it it would just set and fry the tires, so he put another big block in it, sold it to me, and got him a nova to put the blower motor in.

My question exactly! So... I'm moving the engine back 10"" & shortened the frame 3". I'm moving the battery, radiator, and everyting I can to the back axle. Still in the process - Lack of money & time.

Re: Drag Racing

Thats a good idea, moving all the weight thats up front toward the back. By the way that is a sweet looking truck.

Luv2xclr8 shot a vidio of the car and it shows it breaking in the burnout box throwing sparks. I didn't hear or feel anything so I staged and made a full pass and drove it back to the trailer under its own power. Do you think I should use JB weld or superglue???
Duct tape ........so howd it run that pass good as usual?

Re: Drag Racing

This is my Camaro....it ran 12.5s my very first trip out to the track, my best was an 11.99. All passes were made with stickys, dropped around 4000RPM and shifted at 6500. My latest trip out to the high school drags werent as productive though....14.40s sideways all the way down the track with $40 345/50 16s.

No traction eh? Those meaty 315/35s should be grabbing pretty good. Also, if you wanted to go fast.....you should of bought Eibachs drag launch springs instead of there sportline springs.

Other than that...you got a nice car, its beautiful. Take care of it.

When I took it to the track I had my Pro Stars, slicks n skinnies with 275/50/15 MT ET slicks. I like the look better with the Sportlines, I hate to admit it but I like to look good over going fast. But you'd be hard pressed to find a street car as fast around here. The Fox body I was racing in the vid is a local shop owners car, it's a turbo 5.0 daily driver, he run's high 6's in the 1/8 and high 8's in the 1000 ft. Here's my 2nd time to even run the car, I knew I was in trouble, I parked next to this guy just so I could check out his truck. He ran a 8.1 when I ran him to my 9.8. He was flat hauling the mail in that truck considering the weight.

You can see the truck behind my car

And here is the vid of him handing me my ass

It normally runs 7.05-7.09. It ran a 7.98 this pass and yes I could tell a big difference. Craig/Luv2xclr8 had a video I'm not sure if it's still floating around or not.

Re: Drag Racing

Ron you need to put a glide in that nova! Turbo 350's don't like abuse as well as a glide!

As far as these trucks hooking up! with coilovers and trailing arms and sticky tires they do well! I have been 1.31 so far with trailing arms! Tom the previous owner has been mid 1.20's with more motor and more nitrous!

Re: Drag Racing

here is the only pic i have on this computer. The truck does sit a little different now mainly because it is in pieces. this pic was about 4 years ago and of course the truck has not been down the track in over 2 years since I cratered the richmond gears. I always thought that the axles would go first. It is being put back together now or at least going to be soon. My son who is 2 is really getting into the truck. We were watching PINKS the other night and I asked him if he wanted to take Daddy's truck and he said Uh-huh. He said daddy truck boom boom and then did a little noise sounding like the truck. Hopefully after everything slows down and my father in law gets better I can get started on the truck again.
