More than just engine trouble
I was doing a test drive yesterday after tinkering with my truck and lost my high gear on my tranny. Then I lost my second gear. I limped home going 15mph on a 45mph road. It was more frustrating than embarrassing. First and elusive caugh and gag out of the motor, then the truck breaks at the waist. Anyone have any idea whether a 71 C-20 350ci has a 350 or a 400 tranny? Too many things going wrong at once for a primary vehicle.

Most likely a t-350.
look at the transmission pan. If it resembles Arizona, it's a t-350. If it resembles, Texas, it's a 400.

On the plus side, t-350s are cheap. It's better than replacing a NV-5600!

Definately shaped like Arizona. Must be a 350. Thanks for the help.
