Repair or Replace Tranny

Is it better to repair or replace a 350 tranny?

Since we have an excellent transmission repair source, we always get ours rebuilt when needed. Replaceing with a used transmission is always a gamble unless the history is known.

There are good reputable sources that rebuild transmissions and the trick is knowing whether you have someone local or not that does a quality job.

You did not say what was wrong with yours and 350's are great transmissions, so your problem could be simple. It could be that your transmission just needs a seal or a fluid change or some other similiar fix. If that is the case than repair would be the way to go. If the vehicle won't move and the fluid is full and it smells bad, than a rebuild is what I would consider.

Always post the symptoms. You'll find that for the most part the folks here have experienced just about everything.

I'd also recomend stocking up on literature for your Th350. The more you know the easier it will be to diagnose problems.
